Papua New Guinea (PNG) Visa Services
The Australian Embassy in Yangon issues Papua New Guinea (PNG) visas on behalf of the government of Papua New Guinea under a long-established arrangement between the Governments of PNG and Australia. PNG visas will only be issued to clients for whom the Embassy receive a visa approval from the Immigration Department of Papua New Guinea.
Appointments for Papua New Guinea (PNG) Visa Services
The Australian Embassy in Yangon provides Papua New Guinea visa services in-person and by appointment only. Appointments should only be booked once you have confirmed with the Australian Embassy in Yangon whether the Embassy has received your PNG visa approval from the Immigration Department of Papua New Guinea.
The Australian Embassy does not collect a fee for PNG visa applications.
Booking Policy
- Please arrive 10 minutes prior to your appointment time for security screening.
- If you are late, you may need to reschedule the appointment.
- Bookings can be made up to two weeks in advance.
- You can amend, reschedule, or cancel your appointment via the link in your notification email.
- Please ensure you select the correct type of services you require when you make the appointment. If you select the wrong service, we may not be able to assist you at your appointment time and you may need to reschedule.
- Multiple bookings for the same service are not permitted.
- Appointments for 'PNG Visa submission' will not be accepted without the prior approval of a PNG visa by the Immigration Checkpoints Authority (ICA) of Papua New Guinea. Duplicate appointments are not permitted.

Appointments for ‘Collecting of PNG Visa’ will be cancelled if an appointment is booked prior to submission of the mandatory documents at the Embassy, e.g. you must book a ‘PNG Visa submission’ appointment prior to making a booking to collect your PNG visa.
What documents to bring to your PNG visa appointment
- Original passport
- A completed PNG Application for Entry Permit form
- A copy of your PNG work permit
Papua New Guinea visa collection
An appointment must be booked with the Australian Embassy in Yangon to collect your PNG visa following your visa application.
No document is required to collect your PNG visa. Only the visa applicant is permitted to collect their visa.
The Australian Embassy does not collect a fee for PNG visa applications.
Papua New Guinea entry requirements
The documents listed below are required to be provided upon arrival in Papua New Guinea. All documents must be written in English. A notarised, English- translated document is required for any documents written in another language:
- Papua New Guinea State of Emergency Controller’s approval for entry into PNG
- COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate. The following approved types of COVID-19 vaccination have been approved by the PNG Government:
1. Pfizer-BioNTech
2. AstraZeneca-Oxford
3. AstraZeneca (COVISHIELD/SII)
4. Johnson & Johnson (Janseen)
5. Moderna
6. Sinopharm
7. Sinovac
- Medical report from the International SOS (ISOS) clinic. Applicants must book an appointment for a medical check-up with the ISOS clinic on by phone (+95) 01 657922. The ISOS clinic is located in Inya Lake Hotel, Kabar Aye Pagoda Road, Yangon
- Police clearance report
- COVID-19 negative PCR test report
- Supplementary Health Check Form
