Head of Mission
Ms Feeney is Chargé d'affaires and Head of Mission of the Australian Embassy in Myanmar.
Ms Feeney is a senior career officer with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. She was most recently the acting First Assistant Secretary of the Southeast Asia Maritime Division.
She previously served as Deputy Head of Mission Bangkok and Permanent Representative to the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific, Thailand from July 2021 to July 2025.
Prior to Bangkok Ms Feeney served as Assistant Secretary, Climate Change and Environment Policy Branch (2018-2021). She has served in senior positions in Europe Division (2013) and on Australia’s bid for and subsequent term on the United Nations Security Council (2010-2013).
Her previous overseas experience includes DHOM United Nations New York (2020), Ambassador in Belgrade (2013-2018), First Secretary/ Counsellor in Geneva UN (2003-2006) and Second Secretary in Nairobi.
She holds a Bachelor of Economic and Political Science from Flinders University, South Australia.
